Transaero has announced the addition of new direct flights to Lisbon from Moscow, holidaymakers may be interested to learn.
Starting on July 2nd travellers hoping to move between Russia and Portugal will be able to utilise the firm's Boeing 737 jets, reports Russia IC.
Vacationers used to be able to travel between these destinations through another airline, but this was bankrupted in 2008, leaving one other firm with a monopoly on the service.
However, it will now be possible for travellers to select Transaero flights to Lisbon instead.
Trips between the European Union (EU) and Russia may become more popular in the future as the two parties are in negotiations to enable visa-free travel between the locations.
EU negotiator and the European Commission's director of internal affairs Stefano Manservizi commented: "Both the EU and the Russian Federation are acting on a totally equal footing as they develop these steps and a future visa-free agreement."
