SunExpress Germany, officially called SunExpress Deutschland, is a German leisure airline and a subsidary ofSunExpress, a joint-venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. SunExpress Germany is headquartered in Frankfurt, with its main base being Frankfurt Airport and with smaller bases at several other airports throughout Germany. SunExpress Germany was founded in 2011 and began operating 3 Boeing 737-800s from Germany to the Red Sea and the airline's network has expanded since to more destinations in North Africa and Southern Europe.
Sunexpress Germany has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage.
Passengers are permitted 8kg of hand baggage for their flights. This item must not exceed the dimensions of 55x40x23cm.
SunExpress passengers are entitled to a checked baggage allowance of 20 to 40kg on international flights depending on the SunFare tariff booked and one item of hand luggage (55 x 40 x 20 cm) with a maximum weight of 6 kg. For flights within Turkey, the baggage allowance is between 15 and 25 kilograms.
Sunexpress Germany passengers can check in online or at the airport.
Passengers can check in online 24 hours before departure, which closes 3.5 hours before flight departure time. This is currently only available at selected German airports.
If passengers have not checked in online, they can do so at the airport. Passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport at least 2.5 hours before their flight is due to depart.
SunExpress offers a frequent flyer program called SunPoints, whereby frequent travellers are rewarded for travelling with SunExpress. SunPoints can be exchanged for flights with SunExpress.
