Hub Airport
Simón Bolivar International Airport
Simón Bolivar International Airport is an international airport in Venezuela and the hub airport for Rutaca Airlines. Previously, the airline used Ciudad Bolivar Tomás de Heres Airport as its main hub. However, due to political and economic unrest in Venezuela, the airline was forced to dramatically reduce the number of routes flown from Tomas de Heres Airport and now, the majority of its flights come to or from Simón Bolivar International.
The airport is located in Vargas, Venezuela and is split into two separate terminals. One terminal is used exclusively for domestic routes, whereas the other is used for international.
