Karun Airlines was founded in 1992 and is an airline based in Iran, with primary hubs at Tehran-Mehrabad and Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani International Airport. The carrier operates scheduled passenger flights, as well as private charter and cargo services, both domestically within Iran and to neighbouring countries. Karun Airlines was formerly called Iranian Naft Airlines, before rebranding to Karun Airlines in 2017, and is owned by the state-owned National Iranian Oil Company.

Karun Airlines' baggage allowance will depend on the route being operated and will be outlined during the flight booking process, during which time it will be possible to add additional baggage to your booking, depending on your needs.

Cabin Classes

What are seats like?

Sit back and relax in comfortable seats that offer lots of personal space. In the Fokker 50 seats are configured in a 2-2 formation, and in the Fokker 100 seats are arranged in a 3-2 formation. There is ample overhead storage space, and in the seat pockets.

Food and beverages

Food and drinks are available and served during the flight. The airline has developed a healthy menu, ranging from light snacks to meal options.

Check-In

Passengers are encouraged to arrive at their departure airport at least two hours before scheduled departure for a short-haul domestic flight, and three hours before departure for a long haul flight. Karun Airline’s scheduled passenger flights are currently only domestic.

Mehrabad International Airport (THR) is an international airport serving Tehran, the capital city of Iran. Today, Mehrabad International Airport only serves only domestic flights. Karun Airlinesflies from THR to domestic destinations in Iran, along with other airlines including Iran Aseman Airlines, Qeshm Airlines, Iran Air Tours, Kish Air, and Caspian Airlines.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani International Airport

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani International Airport (IATA: AWZ) was also previously named Ahvaz International Airport. The airport serves the city of Ahvaz. As well as domestic destinations, passengers can also fly to international destinations including Dubai, Istanbul and Kuwait. Fly with airlines including Iran Air, ATA Airlines, Caspian Airlines, Mahan Air, Qeshm Airlines, and Zagros Airlines.
