Dan Air is a Romanian low-cost airline, which is set to begin regular passenger flight operations in June 2023. The airline was originally set up in early 2018, under the name Just Us Air, before undergoing a rebrand in late 2021 to their current name, Dan Air. Previously the airline had been operating charter and wet lease flights using their own aircrafts for a variety of airlines, before taking the decision to have their own regular passenger flight operation.

Their base airport will be the Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, Romania, as well as the new Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, which opens in June 2023, being used as one of their main hub.

Baggage Policy

Dan Air has different baggage policies for different carry-on and checked baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

Your small luggage should not exceed the size of 40cm x 30cm x 20cm or be over the 10kg weight limit. It should be able to fit under the seat in front of you, without causing other passengers discomfort. You should not carry any hazardous product.

Your cabin luggage should not exceed the size of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm or be over the 10kg weight limit. This must be able to fit in the overhead cabin.

Any valuables and electronic devices, for example laptops, tablets, cameras etc, have to be carried in cabin baggage.

Anything bought in duty-free before boarding the plane, are to be transported seperately from hand luggage.

There can be a limitation on cabin storage space when flights are busy, which means Dan Air reserve the rights to take your hand luggage at the time of boarding for it to be placed in the hold. There'll be no additonal charge if a situation like this occurs.

Checked Baggage

Dan Air will allow for their passengers to bring a FREE checked bag, which can weigh up to 32kg, however this mayvary so confirm your allowance before flying. The size requirements for Checked baggage are 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and 100cm x 80cm x 30cm.

Musical Equipment

If you intend on taking any musical instruments onboard the plane, you can choose to either place it in the passenger cabin or the hold of the plane. If you're planning on carrying it on board into the passenger cabin, please ensure that it is no bigger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and not heavier than 10kg. This must be placed in the comparment above the seats for the duration of your flight. Some large musical instruments, which exceed the previous measurements mentioned can travel in the passenger cabin, if you purchase anextra seat at the time of your booking for it.

Cabin Classes

Although Dan Air hasn't yet released information about the travel classes available on board its aircraft, it is anticipated that the airline will offer an economy class seat. There are no details available on this seating appearance, supplied food, or seat dimensions. For additional information, though, check back closer to the airline's launch (around June 2023).

In-flight Entertainment & WIFI

It is currently not yet known if there will be any In-flight Entertainment or Wi-Fi onboard Dan Air's aircrafts.

Food & Drink

Dan Air has not released any information around the food or drink that they will offer on their flights.

Check-In

Although the airline has not yet begun operations, they have released some information around their check-in options.

An Online Check-in service will be available on the Dan Air official website. More will be made known about this service once the airline has started operating.

Airport Check-in

As the airline has not yet released any information around check-in times, we recommend that passengers arrive as early as possible, usually about 2 hours before scheduled departure for international flights. Recommended time will vary depending on airport, so please consult with your departure airport beforehand.

Frequent Flyer Programme

Dan Air has not yet revealed whether they will offer a Frequent Flyer Program.

Special Services

Dan Air has requested that any Special Assistance requests should be made 48 hours before your departure time so that they can best respond to the request. Please be aware that if you request special assistance with less then 48 hours before departure, your request may not be confirmed. Some airports may charge an additional cost for certain special assistance services, so please make yourself aware of these to ensure you can make all the necessary arrangements in advance.

If you intend on booking a connecting flight, it is advised that you leave at least an hour and a half between each flights.
