Heraklion International Airport

Heraklion International Airport is the main airport in Crete, Greece and is the hub airport for Blue Bird Airways. The airport is located just east of the centre of Heraklion and is the second busiest airport out of Greece and the Greek Islands.

The airport has one terminal building and two runways. It serves over 8 million passengers per year, with the majority of passenger traffic coming from seasonal flights in the European summer months.

Heraklion Airport is also the hub airport for Sky Express, while Aegean Airlines and Ellinair frequently fly there and use the airport as a strong focus within their respective route networks.

Blue Bird Airways fleet consists entirely of the Boeing aircraft. The airline has a small fleet, which is made up of short-haul to medium-haul 737 planes.
