About Stuttgart Airport

Stuttgart Airport (IATA: STR) is an international airport located in Stuttgart, Germany. It is currently the sixth-busiest airport in Germany, having served over 10.5 million passengers in 2015. The airport mainly serves flights to European cities, but also has some long-haul services to destinations such as Atlanta.

The airport was originally built in 1939 to replace the former Böblingen Airport. After WWII, the airport was expanded, including an extension of the runway in 1948, 1961 and 1996. The original terminal building from 1938 was also replaced in 2004, meaning there are currently four terminals.
