In September 2011, Kuban Airlines merged with a Russian low-cost carrier, Sky Express. When the 2 airlines merged it allowed Kuban Airlines to expand its fleet bringing an Airbus A319 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
Due to financial issues, Kuban Airlines had to cease its operations. On the 11th of December 2012, Kuban Airlines stopped all of its operations.
