Emetebe was founded in 1993 and revolutionised transportation in the Galapagos Isles, by offering air travel as an option for the first time. The airline offers affordable short-haul transportation between the Galapagos Isles. The aim is to provide a solution to the problem of inter island travel for both local residents and tourists. Emetebe has offices conveniently located in Guayaquil, Quito, San Cristobal island, Santa Cruz island, Isabela island and Baltra island.
Emetebe offers an Air Taxi service rather than operating a regular flight schedule. This service is designed around offering maximum flexibility with minimal enviromental impact. Emetebe describes itself as a mini-van service, but with wings! No missed connections, no lines, no waiting.
Services include: Island transfer, private charter, scenic flights, cargo flights, and medical flights.
Island Transfer
If you are planning a holiday to explore the Galapagos, island transfer by air is the most convenient option. On your arrival in Galapagos, at either Seymour (Baltra) or Cristobal airport, you can head straight to the island of your choice! Flight times will vary between 25 to 45 minutes, depending on the distance.
Baggage Policy
Emetebe Airlines has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger is allowed 5 lbs/2.30 kg carry-on baggage. Due to the size of the aircraft, passengers will need to hand over baggage to the cabin crew after arriving at the aircraft for boarding.
Checked Baggage
The checked baggage allowance for island transfer flights is 20lbs/11.34 kg for each passenger.
It is worth noting that the objective is always to ensure that baggage travels on the same flight, however, there may be instances when baggage needs to be sent by a later flight due to payload restrictions. But you have no reason to worry, luggage is always secure in the custody of the Baggage Service department.

Standard Seating
Emetebe offers standard seating, but is dedicated to providing a unique and special experience.
Be greeted by staff on arrival at the airport. The complimentary in-flight Magazine contains great insight and bite-sized articles for your short-haul flight. Remember to take your camera, your journey will be filled with incredible views!
Premium Seating
Passengers are now able to upgrade to a limited selection of Premium seats. Advantages include extra seating comfort, with more legroom available, and, most importantly, a guaranteed window seat!
You can now also reserve a Premium Gold “co-pilot seat”, which allows you to discover the ultimate cabin/co-pilot experience! Available on all flights.
Check-In
As flight times are not pre-scheduled, there is flexibility to accommodate continental flight arrivals.
Please note that there may be a need to wait for additional passengers arrival on other national flights. This gives you the opportunity opportunity to stretch your legs and enjoy the spacious ‘ecological’ airports.
For departure from your island, passengers will receive information on the timing of departure on the day before travel. Passengers must present themselves at the designated airport for check in, with their reservation no less than 45 minutes before estimated takeoff.
