2. Norlandair
Based in Akureyri, Norlandair is the specialist for the Arctic north and remote eastern locations. They often use smaller Twin Otter or Beechcraft planes, which offer incredible views.

- Distance to city: Only 3km from town; a very short taxi or a long walk.
3. Ísafjörður Airport (IFJ) – Best for the View
If you enjoy "adventure" landings, this is the most legendary airport in Iceland.
- Why it’s great: The approach is world-famous. Pilots must fly deep into a narrow fjord and perform a sharp 180-degree turn to line up with the runway nestled between towering mountains. It is incredibly scenic but can be prone to weather cancellations.

4. Egilsstaðir Airport (EGS) – Best for Exploration
Located in the East, this airport is the primary gateway to the Eastfjords.
