How to rent a car with a Discover card?
- Make a search - Head to the search form above to begin your search, and enter your pick-up and drop-off locations, age and dates. Then click the search button.
- Find your rental car - Choose your preferred vehicle from the results list. Make sure to use filters to help you refine your search so that you can find the best vehicle for you.
- Select Discover at checkout - Enter your driver details, choose any extras and head to checkout. Make sure to pick "Discover" from the list of payment providers.
- Receive your rental confirmation - Enter your Discover card details and securely pay for your rental. Once successful, you will receive your rental documents and agreement via email.

Discover (not to be confused with DiscoverCars in the car rental industry), is a U.S. payment provider and network with millions of credit and debit card holders across the country. It is accepted nearly everywhere in the U.S. and in 185 countries worldwide via partner networks.
As the 4th largest credit card provider in the U.S., Discover is well respected and is often known as the pioneer of no-annual-fee cards and for its cashback rewards program.

Do I need to pay a deposit even if I pay with Discover at Alternative Airlines.
Your car rental provider will still require you to provide a valid credit card in the primary driver's name, even if you paid with Discover through Alternative Airlines.
This is so a security deposit can be charged/held on your card when you pick up your vehicle. This is to cover any potential post-rental costs, such as damages, missing fuel or toll fees.
When you return your vehicle, the deposit charge will be released/returned to you, provided there are no additional costs incurred after your rental's return. This can often take up to 10 working days to show in your account.
