Sometimes vacation plans don't work out. It can be a stressful endeavour cancelling flights when you don't know the ins and outs of getting your money back. But don't worry! If you've booked Emirates flights you can no longer make, you can easily cancel them by applying one of the following methods: Either submit a cancellation ticket through our Manage My Booking portal or reach out to our customer support team, who are always happy to help.
If you'd like to cancel your booking independently, you can begin the process by signing into our Manage My Booking interface. Here, you will see the option to cancel or make changes to your Emirates booking. Throughout this process you will be able to see the total amount you are entitled to as a refund based on Emirates' cancellation policy. This will allow you to make an informed decision whether you would like to cancel your flights or not.
If you added Cancellation Protection to your booking, you're able to get a full refund if you need to cancel your flights for reasons considered emergencies. You can find all the details outlining what constitutes an emergency by reading our Cancellation Protection Terms and Conditions.
Note: Most airlines tickets are non-refundable as per the terms and conditions of the airline.

The best way to ensure you can claim a full refund is if you booked a refundable Emirates ticket with us or added Cancellation Protection to your booking.
If you booked refundable flight tickets through Alternative Airlines you are eligible for a full refund all the way up until the time of your flights departure, however it should be noted that cancelling a refundable ticket will incur a small cancellation fee. This cancellation fee will be removed automatically from your refunded balance. We do offer refundable tickets for Emirates flights at Alternative Airlines. If you are planning to book one, then please read our fare rules during your booking process to check if your ticket is refundable or not.
You can also add Cancellation Protection to your Emirates flights during the booking process. This entitles you to a full refund should you need to cancel your flights due to emergency reasons (e.g., home emergencies, serious illness, mechanical breakdowns, etc). To claim your refund, you'll need to provide proof that you couldn't board your flight due to an emergency.
Yes, you can. If you cancel your Emirates booking within 24 hours of finalising your flights then their policy is to grant you a full refund. However, if you booked through Alternative Airlines, it is imperative you cancel your Emirates flights through us during our hours of operation, so we can process your cancellation before the 24 hour window has elapsed. If you want to cancel your flight within the 24 hour window, you must contact us between 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT).
If you fail to contact us during our hours of operation we won't be able to honour Emirates' 24 hour cancellation policy, as Emirates may not distribute your refund to us.

Get a refund from a refundable Emirates ticket:
At Alternative Airlines we offer Refundable Emirates tickets, which are always eligible for a refund, all the way up until your scheduled departure. To process your refund we may charge a small cancellation fee, which will be automatically deducted from your refund amount.
If you purchased a non-refundable Emirates ticket with no ancillary coverage applied, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Emirates has a 24 hour cancellation policy which allows consumers to get a full refund if they cancel their flights within 24 hours of finalising their booking. The 24 hour window begins when you submit your booking and make payment at checkout. Once this period has elapsed, you are unable to get a refund unless you added one of our ancillary packages or a refundable ticket.
Please note that if you book your flights through Alternative Airlines, you must cancel your Emirates flights during our operating hours (between 9AM and 8PM GMT.) This is to ensure we are able to process your refund request and honour Emirates' 24 hour cancellation policy.
If you contact us beyond our operating hours, we may not get your refund request within the provided 24 hours, which will invalidate your ability to claim a refund.
