Hawkair is a scheduled airline based in Terrace, Canada operating from Vancouver to three airports in Northern British Columbia
Hawkair was founded in 1994 as a cargo airline flying mining equipment to isolated Goldmine sites in Northern British Columbia. In August 2000 Hawkair transformed itself into a passenger airline with the acquisition of their first Dash-8 aircraft and just one month later they were flying scheduled service between Terrace and Vancouver.
Over the past five years the company has expanded and now flies from Vancouver to Smithers, Prince Rupert and Kitimat-Terrace. Full on board facilities are offered with complimentary refreshments served as appropriate to the route and time of day.
The Hawkair network is operated by a fleet of DHC-8/100 aircraft with 37 seats as well as the much smaller King Air 200, with just 10 seats. The airline has the advantage over it’s competitors as all flights depart from Vancouver’s crowd free South Terminal.
Customers just love this "local" airline which just thrives on repeat business. Quality and service with a smile is what Hawkair is all about, so it’s not surprising to learn that they won the "Customer Service Company of the Year" awards from local Chambers of Commerce.
This great little airline is worthy of your support should you have to fly to N. BC from Vancouver, try the little airplane with the Big White Hawk on the tail fin.
