Subway

The subway system in Shenzhen services the main parts of the city and is a clean and efficient way of travelling. What is commonly known as the 'Airport Line', Line 11, passes through two parts of the airport and has a final stop in Shenzhen's Central Business District. The airport is 45 minutes by subway from central Shenzhen. There are regular and business class seats available on the subway - the business class seats are more expensive, but are less busy and have ample space for luggage.

There are three main types of taxi in Shenzhen: blue (electric), red (not electric), and green (not electric). Blue taxis are the cheapest type of taxi, since a fuel surcharge does not apply, and green taxis may often refuse to take customers travelling towards central Shenzhen, as they are not supposed to operate in certain districts of the city.
