About King Khalid International Airport
King Khalid International Airport (Arabic: مطار الملك خالد الدولي Maṭār al-Malik Khālid al-Duwaliyy), is an international airport serving the city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The airport is located about 20 miles north of the city, and consists of 5 passenger terminals, a mosque, a Royal Terminal and much more.
The airport first opened in 1983, as a result of the increased demand for international and local air transport requirements for Riyadh.
King Khalid International Airport is the hub for Saudia and Flynas.

Terminals
There are 5 passenger terminals at this airport, however only 3 are in use at the current time.
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 is currently used for all international flights on all airlines except Saudia, Air France, MEA and Flynas.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is currently used by SkyTeam members for international flights, including Saudia and Flynas.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is currently closed for renovations. It used to be used by Saudia and Flynas for domestic flights, until Terminal 5 was opened and replaced these operations.
Terminal 4
Terminal 4 is unused and has never been used since being built. It is currently under development since 2013 to increase capacity, which is expected to finish soon.
Terminal 5
Terminal was opened most recently in 2016, and is now used for domestic flights by Saudia and Flynas.
Royal Terminal
The Royal Terminal is a private terminal which is used by heads of state and other high-ranking VIPs to Saudi Arabia. Visitors are greeted in the Royal Pavillion which has open spaces with gardens and fountains. This is connected by a ceremonial hall to the mosque.
General Aviation Terminal
The general aviation terminal is used by private aircraft and is accessible via a special access road only.

How to get to King Khalid International Airport
By Road
Passengers driving to the airport should follow the road signs north of Riyadh. The parking facilities at the airport are plentiful, and are located in front of the passenger terminals.
Flat-rate and metered taxis are also readily available at the airport.
By Public Transport
At Terminal 5 there is a Metro service which connects the airport to the Financial District. Some airports also offer shuttle services to and from the airport.
By Rental Car
