Alternative Airlines Partners with Sherpa

With international travel restrictions constantly changing, Alternative Airlines has launched a new Coronavirus Travel Restrictions Hub and will be adding a number of new features to the site soon in its ongoing initiative to help build travellers' confidence and keep them up-to-date with vital coronavirus travel information.

Customers can visit Alternative Airlines’ new Coronavirus Travel Restrictions Hub and use an interactive map to view each country’s current coronavirus travel rules. With this information also soon to be displayed throughout the booking journey, from pre- to post-booking, customers will have easy access to the latest travel restrictions information whenever they need it. 

Via an interactive map on the Alternative Airlines’ Coronavirus Travel Restrictions Hub, customers can view current COVID-19 test requirements, quarantine protocols and entry requirements for anywhere in the world, as well as easily access FAQs and more. To help plan their journey and decide where to travel, customers can use the map to filter by a specific route, or just set their start point to view the travel restrictions for each country on the world map. They can also filter by their passport and/or vaccination status. 

Travel restriction information will also soon be available throughout the booking process, including in the search results for a specific route. The feature will soon also be added to Manage My Booking, so that customers can sign-in to quickly check whether travel restrictions have changed for an upcoming trip.

Travel restrictions information is available thanks to Alternative Airlines’ partnership with Sherpa, who’s advanced API enables the site to access real-time travel restrictions for countries around the world. Alternative Airlines’ in-house tech team of web developers and designers have combined Sherpa’s tools with a simple and accessible yet comprehensive UX design.

These are the latest consumer-focused enhancements to be added to the site during the evolving Coronavirus pandemic. Alternative Airlines already displays the current cleaning and safety practices of each airline in its search results, to provide customers with the information they need to ensure that they’ll feel as safe as possible when they fly. Customers can also add Cancellation Protection to their booking for added reassurance in case they need to cancel their flights for a number of unforeseen circumstances.
