King Khalid International Airport (IATA code: RUH) is the primary gateway to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, situated approximately 22 miles north of the city centre. It currently has five passenger terminals, though only three are operational, with the addition of Terminal 5 in 2016. The airport has an exclusive Royal Terminal.

King Khalid International Airport, was once the largest airport globally in terms of ground area. It is a vital hub connecting Riyadh to domestic and international destinations.

The airport is a hub for Saudi Arabia's flag carrier, Saudia and low-cost airlines Flynas and Flyadeal.

Wellcome Lounge

The Wellcome Lounge is located in Terminal 2, after security and is open to any passengers. You can enter the lounge at any time of day, as it is open 24 hours and all passengers will have to pay a fee to enter the lounge. If you're hoping to use one of their sleeping cabins, this will come at an extra cost.

King Khalid International Airport has two of the Al Fursan lounges, one being in Terminal 4 and the other in Terminal 5. These lounges are available to passengers flying First or Business class on Saudia Airlines.

Runways

King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, boasts two parallel runways in a north-south direction. The first runway, spans approximately 4,000 meters and serves the departure and arrival of larger aircraft. The other runway, runs parallel to the first and shares the same length and purpose. Both runways are equipped with advanced navigational aids and lighting systems to ensure safe and efficient takeoffs and landings, contributing to the smooth operation of the airport.

Terminals

At King Khalid International Airport, there are multiple terminals for different airlines and flights. Terminal 1 is currently closed for renovations but usually handles international flights except those by Saudia and Middle East Airlines. Terminal 2 used to be for SkyTeam members like Saudia and Flynas but now serves all international flights except those by Saudia and Middle East Airlines. Terminal 3 reopened recently and hosts airlines such as Flynas, Flyadeal, Qatar Airways, and some SkyTeam members, excluding Saudia. Terminal 4 is now operational and hosts Saudia's international flights. Terminal 5, the newest one, opened in 2016, and Saudia and Flynas primarily use it for domestic flights.
