Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (IATA: ATL), is a major international airport serving Atlanta, in the US State of Georgia. The airport is also abbreviated to Atlanta or referred to as Hartsfield, or Hartsfield–Jackson.
Since 1998, Atlanta has consistently been the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic and number of take-offs and landings. The airport is an international gateway to the United States, offering nonstop services to more than 150 domestic and 70 international destinations. Destinations include North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Africa and Asia, and is a major hub for travel in the southeastern region of the country.
Atlanta Airport is a primary hub for Delta Airlines—as well as hosting Delta's corporate headquarters and Technical Operations Centre—and acts as a focus city for low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Southwest Airlines.
Atlanta has a 20-year blueprint for growth, entitled ATLNext, which will see the airport improve the passenger experience, modernise the Domestic Terminal and expand cargo operations.

Runways
Atlanta has five runways, which all run parallel and aligned east–west. The 8L/26R and 8R/26L runways are north of the terminal area and the 9L/27R, 9R/27L, and 10/28 runways are south of it.

Terminals
There are two terminals: the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal (full title: Maynard H. Jackson Jr International Terminal), which is also where all passengers check in and claim bags.
The Domestic Terminal
The Domestic Terminal is located on the western side of the airport. The terminal is divided into two sides: Terminal South and Terminal North, for ticketing, check-in, and baggage claim. Delta is the sole tenant of Terminal South. All other domestic airlines are located at Terminal North. The portion of the building between two terminals is called the Atrium, a large, open passenger seating area featuring concessionaires, banks, conference rooms and other facilities such as an interfaith chapel (see facilities above).
The International Terminal
International flights arrive and depart from the international terminal, located on the eastern side of the airport. All passengers on international flights, regardless of origin, will collect their baggage at the international terminal.

How to get to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport
By Road
The domestic terminal: the domestic terminal is accessed directly from Interstate 85 at exit 72. The international terminal: The international terminal is accessed directly from Interstate 75 at exit 239. These freeways connect with the following additional freeways within 10 miles: Interstate 285, Interstate 675, Georgia State Route 166, Interstate 20.
By Public Transport
Hartsfield–Jackson has its own train station on the city's rapid transit system, entitled MARTA. The above-ground station can be found inside in the main building, between the north and south domestic terminals on the west end. The airport station is the southernmost station in the MARTA system.
By Rental Car Center
The Rental Car Center (RCC) is a facility that houses 13 rental car brands and vehicles. The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The RCC is located just a few minutes from the airport via the ATL SkyTrain, an electrically-automated people carrier.
