You can be 18 years old in Mexico, however countries such as Colombia, Jamaica and the United States require you to be 21. In some US states, you must be 22 years of age.
If you are between the ages of 18-24 there is a daily young drivers fee, in some locations this aligns to renter's 25 years of age also. The daily fee typically ranges from $13 to $18.57 USD including taxes.
Your Mex rental will not be covered for cross border travel if you take a US rented car across international borders.
