About Wasaya Airways
Wasaya Airways is a domestic Canadian airline, headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The airline has two main hubs: Thunder Bay International Airport and the Sioux Lookout Airport. It also offers charter services from Red Lake Airport and Pickle Lake Airport.
Wasaya Airways prides itself as being the leading provider of high-quality and reliable airline services in Northern Ontario. The airline was originally established in 1989 as 'Kelner Airways', and initially provided float plane flight before it was renamed 'Wasaya' in 1993. Today, the airline provides scheduled passenger services to 25 destinations in Ontario.
Wasaya Airways is a First Nations owned airline; the First Nations are the predominant indigenous peoples in Canada. In 2003, the airline bought the rights to serve remote First Nations communities. The airline is also equipped to operate freight flights and supplies food, clothing and other supplies to over 25 remote communities in Ontario.

Baggage Allowance
Wasaya Airways’ included baggage allowance is 2 pieces of checked baggage and one piece of carry-on, the total of which may not exceed 32 kg.
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger is allowed one piece of carry-on baggage, which must fit under the seat. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 5.9kg (13lbs).
Checked Baggage
As well as the one piece of carry-on baggage, passengers are also allowed two pieces of checked baggage. The first piece must not exceed 11.34kg (25lbs) in weight, and is guaranteed to travel on the departing flight.

Airport Check-In
All passengers must check-in at least 45 minutes prior to departure. Those who have not checked in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled aircraft departure will be deemed as a no-show. It is advised to arrive at the airport as early as possible.
Fleet
The airline currently has between 15 and 20 aircraft registered with Transport Canada. It’s fleet includes the Beechcraft 1900, which seats up to 18 passengers and is used for scheduled and charter services, and the De Havilland Canada Dash 8 which seats up to 37 passengers and is used for scheduled and charter flights. For scheduled and charter flights, the airline also uses Cessna 208 aircraft, which seats up to 9 passengers, and the Pilatus PC-12, which seats up to 9.
Economy Class
Onboard the plane, there is only one cabin class available, with standard seating. However, there are three ticket fares to choose from, which determine things such as the flexibility of the ticket.

Econo: Fees will apply to any changes that need to be made to your ticket.
Flex: Fees will apply to any changes that need to be made to your ticket. These fees however, as less than will be charged if you have an Ecoono ticket.
Freedom/Community: This is the most flexible option if you’re confident you won’t need to make changes to your schedule. Flight date changes, cancellation and name change is complementary (terms and conditions apply).
Meals and Beverages
As the flights are short and facilities limited onboard, no meals or beverages are served during the flight. Passengers are encouraged to use the facilities available at the airport before departing.

Thunder Bay International Airport is an airport in the city of Thunder Bay, in Ontario. From the airport, Wasaya airlines operates scheduled flights to Sioux Lookout, Webequie, and Winnipeg. Other domestic and regional airlines based at the airport include: Air Canada Express, Bearskin Airlines, Porter Airlines, North Star Air, and WestJet Encore.
Sioux Lookout Airport
Sioux Lookout Airport is the airline’s second hub. Sioux Lookout Airport is a regional airport serving Sioux Lookout, in Ontario. Today, the airport is a ‘mini-hub’, facilitating onward travel to many northern communities in Northwestern Ontario. From Sioux Lookout Airport, Wasaya Airways flies to: Big Trout Lake, Fort Severn, Kasabonika, Kingfisher Lake, North Spirit Lake, Pickle Lake, Pikangikum, Red Lake, Thunder Bay, Weagamow, Webequie, Wepekeka, and Winnipeg. Other regional airlines based at the airport include: Bearskin Airlines, Perimeter Aviation, and North Star Air.
