Lijiang Airlines, formally known as Lijiang Aviation Group Co., is a Chinese startup airline, based in Lijiang Sanyi, China. This scheduled carrier is expected to begin operations in March 2019, as it has already obtained a business license in October 2018 and formally inaugurated in November 2018. This airline is owned 30% by Lijiang Tourism Development Invest Group and 70% by Kai Yuan Equity Investment Co., Ltd.
The airline is believed to begin offering passenger charter flights, before expanding to scheduled flights in regional areas, eventually expanding to South East Asian and even Europe and North America. They hope to expand their fleet to around 50 aircraft within 10-15 years of operation. The initial regional flights will be operated from its base in Lijiang, in the northwest of the Yunnan province, flying to nearby destinations of Ninglang, Diqing and Tengchong.
