China Eastern Airlines is a Chinese airline headquartered at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai, China. The airline is a major Chinese low-cost airline carrier operating international, domestic and regional routes. Online check-in opens 48–24 hours before scheduled flight departure time, depending on the airport where passengers are flying from. Please ensure to have your boarding pass printed or saved to your phone wallet ready to show at the check-in desk. If you don't check-in online, you may be charged for the printing of the boarding passes.
Passengers can check-in at the airport from 150 minutes to 45 minutes before scheduled flight departure time, unless stated otherwise. Passengers should be at the security checkpoint at least 40 minutes before departure. To check-in, passengers must visit one of the airline check-in desks at the airport of departure with the relevant travel documents.

China Eastern Airlines operates a frequent flyer program to reward regular passengers with the airline, called Eastern Miles. As an Eastern Miles member, passengers can earn Eastern Miles points through taking CEA flights or partner airlines flights. These miles can be used to purchase future flights on China Eastern or any of its partner airlines.

China Eastern Airlines is based at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), which is the main airport serving Shanghai for domestic flights but facilitates has a small number of international flights. The airport is situated close to the town of Hongqiao in Changning District and Minhang District, 13 km west of downtown. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) has two runways with over 3,300m length each, two terminal buildings and a capacity of over 40 million passengers each year.
