Spring Airlines is China's first low-cost domestic airline. The airline is headquartered in Shanghai and currently flies to 5 domestic bases: Shanghai Hongqiao, Pudong, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, and Shenzhen. The airline also flies to Japan Osaka, Thailand Bangkok, Nagoya, South Korea Jeju and other overseas locations.
In 2010, the airline opened up Shanghai Pudong – Ibaraki as a gateway for passengers flying into the city with charter flights. This made China’s private airlines fly out of the country for the first time. Later in 2010, Spring Airlines opened up the Shanghai to Hong Kong route and by 2012, the airline opened routes to over 75 international and regional routes.
This Chinese airline has been awarded the ‘Safety Advanced Unit’ recognition award for the airline. Spring Airlines promotes cheap, environmentally friendly travel and is devoid of all the unnecessary travel services for the passenger to travel in a comfortable manner.
For domestic flights, the baggage allowance is one bag with a maximum weight is 7kg. For international flights, carry-on baggage must not weigh more than 5kg.
Checked baggage allowances vary depending on ticket class. For international flights, Non-SpringPlus customers are permitted free carry-on and checked luggage with a combined weight of no more than 15kg. SpringPlus customers are permitted carry-on baggage and checked baggage with a combined weight of 25kg. For domestic flights, there is no check baggage allowance for P/R/X/U/E ticket classes. Y Class customers are permitted free carry-on baggage and checked baggage with a combined weight of 15kg. SpringPlus customers are permitted carry-on baggage and checked baggage with a combined weight of 25kg combined.
If you make a reservation with this airline on Alternative Airlines, you can still check in online on the official Spring Airlines Website. Simply put in your flight details and check-in! Please be aware that online check-in is currently only available for domestic flights and that if you wish to do so online, you must check in at least 24 hours before departure. Passengers who have completed online check-in may go straight through airport security at the airport.
Airport check-in can be completed by visiting the check-in desk at the airport of departure. Passengers checking in at the airport for their flight should arrive at the check-in desk at least 60 minutes before their flights are scheduled to leave.
All of the airline's aircraft are configured with single-cabin Economy Class seating.
Extra legroom seating as well as additional baggage are available for pre-purchase online.
Please note that there are no free meals on the flight; for a small purchase fee, a variety of delicious dishes can be purchased.
Enjoy comfortable seating with padded headrests. There is no recline on short flights, but plenty of legroom.
Spring Airlines passengers can enjoy a variety of meals onboard flights including Hong Kong Stewed Pork Rice and Curry Beef Rice. Spring Airlines offers a number of special in-flight meals including Halal and Kid's food options. Please ensure that you book your in-flight meals in advance. Meals available will depend on the destination you're flying to/from.
Spring Pass is Spring Airlines' frequent flyer programme. When you buy a Spring Airlines flight ticket you can earn and spend points with SpringPass. With SpringPass you'll also be able to get free airport lounge access as well as other benefits.
Although the airline is not part of any formal alliance, Spring Airlines offers a frequent flyer program called Spring Pass. Allowing passengers to store their passenger details and save every time they fly.
