What are Domestic Flights Within Seychelles?

A domestic flight in Seychelles is any flight that departs from an airport within Seychelles and arrives at another airport within Seychelles. For example, the most popular commercial internal route within Seychelles is from Mahé to Praslin.

Domestic flights in Seychelles are often inter-island flights. There are more than 150 islands within Seychelles and as the islands themselves are very small, it's not necessary to travel within them by plane. However, when travelling between islands, flights are a great option as they can travel over the sea in a quick and safe manner.

Air Seychelles is the national carrier of Seychelles and the only airline that currently offers flight around the islands.

The airline is based at Seychelles International Airport, Mahé and offers a scheduled service that flies to Praslin on a daily basis, several times a day. Air Seychelles is the only commercial airline to currently fly this route.

Aside from the Mahe—Praslin route, the airline also offers charter flights to several other islands within Seychelles, including Bird Island, Denis Island and D'arros Island.

Why Book Domestic Flights within Seychelles?

Seychelles is known for the beach paradise on its tropical islands. It has a strong argument to lay claim as the most beautiful islands in the world.

As with all islands, travelling between them by road is often not possible. This leaves two other options — by boat or by plane. Domestic flights within Seychelles aren't possible between all islands but — when they are — they are a much quicker option than a boat. For example, travelling between the islands of Mahé and Praslin by ferry will take around 60 minutes. Whereas, travelling between the same islands by plane is only 20 minutes. Plus, for a return journey, there isn't much between the prices either.
