Wat Pho

Wat Pho is one of Bangkok's oldest temples, dating back to the 16th century. It's most famous for the Reclining Buddha, an enormous gilded statue measuring 46 meters long and 15 metres high. The soles of the Buddha's feet are decorated with mother-of-pearl pictures depicting scenes from Jataka tales. The temple complex also houses a renowned school of traditional Thai medicine and massage.

Wat Arun

Gracing the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is another of Bangkok's most iconic landmarks. Nicknamed the "Temple of Dawn" for its stunning beauty in the early morning light, the temple features a 79-metre central prang (spire) decorated with colourful porcelain shards. Climbing the steep steps to the top of the prang rewards visitors with panoramic views of the city and the river.
