Yes, you can use your own personal auto insurance policy when renting a car with NextCar as long as your policy covers rental vehicles. To use your own insurance policy, you must:

- Show proof of coverage when you pick up your car (e.g. a valid insurance ID card or declaration page showing the renter's name and address)
- A security deposit may still apply if you are using personal/business auto insurance

Does NextCar charge for additional drivers?
With NextCar you can add additional drivers to your rental policy. Here’s what you need to know:

- There is an additional driver fee to pay at collection
- Check your rental agreement for location specific requirements
What if i’m late returning my NextCar rental?
At pick up, NextCar will tell you your drop off date and time.
If you drop off your vehicle after the drop off date and/or time, you will be charged a late fee, which can vary depending on the location of your rental. Please check your specific rental agreement for more information.
Returning your rental early will not result in a refund or credit being issued.

An IDP doesn’t give you the right to drive. Instead, it provides a translation of your foreign driver’s license. If you don’t bring your driver’s license, you will not be able to pick up your car, even if you have an IDP.
Please be aware that you may be requested to show a passport or other current U.S issued documentation that confirms that you are authorised to be in the USA for the duration of the rental period.
