About Air Armenia
Air Armenia (Էյր Արմենիա in Armenian) was an Armenian cargo and passenger airline, based in Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. The airline was founded in 2003 and began operating in March 2003.
In 2013, Air Armenia announced plans to launch passenger services and in July 2016, the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia granted permissions for the airline to fly passengers and became the largest Armenian carrier. However in 2014 after just over 10 years of operations, it ceased operations due to financial problems.

Zvartnots International Airport
Zvartnos International Airport is located near the town of Zvartnos, and 15km west of Armenia’s capital Yerevan. Initially opened in 1961, it is the primary International airport for Armenia, and is the busiest airport in the country. For example, in 2017 is saw nearly 2.5 million passengers. This airport operates services for a number or airlines including Armenia Aricompany, ArmWings and Hayways.
