Ava Airways Update
Ava Airways initially had plans to launch in March 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this was suspended. The revised launch date has been pushed back and now the airline is now expected to commence flights in the summer or autumn of 2021.

Ava Airways is a startup international airline carrier in the Dominican Republic. Although based at Domingo Las Americas International Airport in the Dominican Republic, chosen because of the country's favourable location and bilateral status, Ava Airways has been established by its founders as an ‘Airline of the Americas’ and is set to connect countries across the continent.
Ava Airways has plans to operate scheduled flights between Santo Domingo, North America, South America, and Caribbean destinations. The airline plans to use the A320 aircraft for international flights whereas the Dash 8-400 aircraft could serve local domestic destinations
More information, including the onboard experience and ticket fares, has yet to be announced. It is known that the airline will operate as a full-service carrier, which usually means that complimentary baggage allowance and even onboard meals/beverages are included in the price of the ticket.

The airline will operate A320 aircraft for most flights, configured in a 3 x 3 seat formation, with ample space and storage for passengers.

It is known that the airline will operate as a full-service carrier, which usually means that complimentary onboard meals/beverages are included in the price of the ticket. Ava Airways hopes to provide a premium service to passengers.

Domingo Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) is an international airport located in Punta Caucedo, near the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The airport is the second-busiest in the country, after Punta Cana International Airport. The airport has numerous flights to other countries within South and North America, as well as to elsewhere across the world.
Other international airlines to operate flights to the airport include Aeroméxico, Air Europa, American Airlines, Air France, Condor, InterCaribbean Airways, JetBlue, and United Airlines.
