Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) is the government-owned national carrier of Bolivia. The airline is based at Jorge Wilstermann International Airport (VVI) and flies to more than 20 destinations across South America, North America, Central America and Europe. Despite being based at Jorge Wilstermann International, the majority of Boliviana's international flights fly out of its secondary hub, Viru Viru International Airport.
Boliviana de Aviación launched flights in 2009 with domestic services between La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra and launched international flights shortly thereafter. As of today, Boliviana de Aviacion is the main airline offering international flights in and out of the country.
When flying with Boliviana De Aviación, there are restrictions for both carry-on baggage and checked baggage that must be followed.
The carry-on baggage allowance onboard a Boliviana de Aviación flight will depend on which aircraft is operating your flight.
Boeing 767-300 - 1 piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 10 kg (22 lbs) and not exceeding the dimensions of 55 cm x 20 cm x 35 cm (21.6" x 7.8" x 13.7").
Boeing 737-300/700/800 - 1 piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 7 kg (15.4 lbs) and not exceeding the dimensions of 55 cm x 20 cm x 35 cm (21.6" x 7.8" x 13.7").
Bombardier CRJ-200 - 1 piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 5 kg (11 lbs) and not exceeding the dimensions of 20 cm x 25 cm x 30 cm (7.8" x 9.8" x 11.8").
The free checked baggage allowance will depend on the cabin class and the route flown.
On domestic flights, economy class passengers are permitted 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 20 kg (50 lbs).
On flights to/from Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires or Salta, economy class passengers are permitted 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 30 kg (66 lbs).
With flights to/from Miami, adults and children in economy class are permitted 2 pieces of checked baggage, each weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs). Infants are permitted 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs) and a baby stroller.
With flights to/from Madrid, adults and children in economy class are permitted 2 pieces of checked baggage, each weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs). Infants are allowed 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs) and a baby stroller. Business class passengers are permitted up to 3 pieces of checked baggage, each weighing no more than 20 kg.
To check-in for your BoA flight, you can do so online or at the airport.
Passengers can check in online by visiting the Boliviana de Aviación online check-in page and clicking the 'web check-in' tab. Online check-in opens 48 hours before the scheduled flight departure time and closes just one hour before.

It's recommended that passengers arrive for their Boliviana de Aviación flight well before the check-in closing time to ensure that they have enough time to drop off any checked bags, pass security and make the boarding call.
There are two cabin classes you can fly in for your Boliviana De Aviación flight - Economy and Business.
Economy Class is one of two cabin classes offered on Boliviana de Aviación flights. The cabin is clean and comfortable.
Seats are set out in either a 3 x 3 or 2 x 3 x 2 formation.
Business Class offers extra room, comfort and privacy and is available on select flights.
Passengers are treated to a dedicated Business Class service, with food from its Business Class menu.

On select long-haul flights, passengers can enjoy a movie selected by Boliviana de Aviación on shared TVs that are located throughout the cabin.
On short-haul flights, passengers are each given a copy of the airlines' in-flight magazine, Boa Magazine.
There's no WIFI on Boliviana de Aviación (BOA) flights.
Passengers are served hot complimentary meals on long-haul flights, with Business Class passengers treated to a meal from the exclusive Business Class menu.
On short-haul flights, passengers can order a range of sweet and salted snacks from the airline's in-flight menu, as well as hot, cold, soft and alcoholic drinks.

Jorge Wilstermann International Airport is an airport that serves Cochabamba, a city in the Cochabamba Department of Bolivia and is the hub airport for Boiviana de Aviación. The airport is named after Jorge Wilstermann, a respected Bolivian commercial aviator. The airport has two runways, and 1 terminal building and mainly facilitates domestic flights within Bolivia. Although, there are some international flights flying from the airport to parts of South America, as well as intercontinental flights.
