Garuda launches Direct Jakarta to Tokyo flights

Garuda Indonesia will introduce direct flights on the Jakarta-Tokyo-Jakarta route.
GA 884 flying Jakarta - Tokyo departs from Jakarta at 23.50  and arrives in Tokyo at 09.00 (local times). The return flight is served by GA 885 which leaves Tokyo at 12.00 and arrives in Jakarta at 17.45 (local times).

The new service uses Airbus 330-200 that has a capacity of 222 passengers with a seating configuration of 36 passengers in Executive Class and 186 passengers in Economy Class.

Garuda Indonesia President and CEO, Emirsyah Satar explained that Japan has always been a potential market offering wide range of opportunities for the airline, and for the past 48 years Garuda Indonesia has flown to various destinations in the Land of the Rising Sun. “In light of with the growing trade relations between the two countries, we dedicate this direct service from Jakarta-Tokyo to passengers who are traveling on business to and from both countries. This service will ultimately add to the comfort and facility of traveling between Jakarta and Tokyo, particularly for Garuda Indonesia passengers,” added Emirsyah Satar.

Garuda Indonesia already flies to other cities in Japan from Denpasar, such as to Nagoya three times a week and to Osaka five times a week, in addition to a daily schedule to Tokyo via Denpasar. Passengers traveling on the new direct service from Jakarta-Tokyo-Jakarta will enjoy the airline’s newest brand of service, the “Garuda Indonesia Experience” which is based on warm Indonesia hospitality. Absolute comfort in flying is provided by the aircraft’s new cabin interior, which includes a 180º fully-reclining flat bed seat for Executive Class passengers. The aircraft is also equipped with touch screen LCD monitors in all classes, state-of-the-art flight entertainment system with Audio & Video On Demand (AVOD) which offers a choice of 25 films, 250 audio tracks and 25 video games, all for the enjoyment of passengers throughout the flight.  Garuda Indonesia currently holds a four-star airline rating from Sky Trax, a London-based research company specializing in the analysis and rating of all aspects of the aviation industry.
