Somon Air is a private Tajikistan airline headquartered in Dushanbe. Somon Air flies to many destinations including Dushanbe and Khujand in Tajikistan, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Sochi and St Petersburg in Russia and Almaty, Dubai, Frankfurt, Istanbul and Urumqi internationally.
Somon Air was established in 2008 and mainly operates domestic and international flights to regional and European destinations. Every year, the company operates flights to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season for the carriage of pilgrims. Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Somon Air has been expanding in recent years as 2012 saw the launch of the routes Khudzhand - Krasnodar and Khudzhand - Sochi. In 2009, Somon Air joined IATA Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement (MITA), which is an agreement where passengers and cargo use a standard traffic document on transportation modes to reach the final destination on a particular route. In June 2013, Somon Air became a member of IATA Clearing House.
For international flights, adults must have a passport and visa, if necessary. Children should be included in the passport of a parent or have their own passport. For unaccompanied minors, notarized parental consent to travel is required.
For children travelling abroad with one or both parents, the border police may require proof of the relationship between the child and the accompanying parent/s. Pay special attention to the validity of documents. Passengers with expired passports are not allowed to fly.
There are varying baggage policies for Somon Air flights. Carry-on, checked and excess baggage have different rules that apply.
Passengers may carry only one carry-on luggage item not heavier than 7kg economy class and 10kg business class with dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 centimetres.
Carry-on baggage must fit in the overhead lockers or under the seat in front of you. Please ensure that you don't pack any prohibited items in your carry-on baggage such as liquids over 100ml. Any prohibited items found at airport security will be removed and disposed of.
On most Somon Air flights, passengers receive 30kg for business class and 20kg for economy class baggage allowance. For children younger than 2 years, travelling without a separate seat is not entitled to free baggage. Any checked baggage that exceeds the weight restrictions on Simon Air flights will be subject to excess baggage fees.
When travelling to some destinations, your baggage allowance is increased. Therefore we advise that you read your baggage allowance when buying a Somon Air flight ticket. Baggage allowance will vary depending on the destination your flying from/to.

Checked baggage cannot exceed 32kg due to international health and safety regulations and it must not exceed the permitted size allowance.
There are 2 official cabin classes available on a Somon Air flight - Economy and Business Class.
When flying in Economy Class, Somon Air passengers are givens seats with enough legroom, those who need more legroom can upgrade bulkhead or exit row seats.
On Somon Air Business Class the seats are displayed in a 2-2 configuration. The seats recline and are padded for extra comfort. Additionally, when travelling in Business Class with Somon Air a footrest as well as an armrest will be included.
Somon Air passengers can check in either online or at the airport.
Online check-in is available for Somon Air flights 24 hours before flight departure time. We advise that you check in online in order to have a quick and easy airport journey.
If you're unable to check in online then you can check in at the airport. Check-in desks will usually open 2 hours and 30 minutes before flight departure time.
Somon Air has partnered with Inflight Dublin to offer its passengers quality in-flight entertainment. Inflight Dublin will offer a number of in-flight services such as Movies, TV and audio on overhead and seatback systems. Somon Air will be streaming the latest movies and TV series on international flights as well as domestic flights.
Somon Air doesn't provide WiFi or internet connection on its flights. However, you can keep yourself entertained during Somon Air flights by connecting to the 'Inflight Dublin' entertainment.

Somon Air allows minors between the age of 8 to 16 to travel unaccompanied by adults. You're able to buy tickets for unaccompanied minors with the exemption that you follow the right documentation. On domestic flights and international flights, unaccompanied minors must presents a passport, a notarized power of attorney from a parent or legal guardian as well as a copy of an Unaccompanied Minor Form.
If you're 28 weeks into pregnancy then you're allowed to fly on Somonair flights as long as you provide an exchange card and a doctor's certificate stating that you're fit to fly.
Pregnant women from 32 weeks onwards are not allowed to fly on Somonair flights.
