LATAM Ecuador (formerly known as LAN Ecuador) is a subsidiary of LATAM Airlines, based in Guayaquil, in Ecuador. Other subsidiaries of LATAM Airlines include LATAM Peru and LATAM Argentina. The airline was established in July 2002 and began operating on 28th April 2003. In 2008, LATAM Airlines Ecuador received approval to begin domestic operations and these were launched in March 2009 with an Airbus A318 aircraft.
LATM Airlines Ecuador has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage.
On board a LATAM Airlines Ecuador flight, the maximum weight for carry-on baggage is 8 kilos (17 lb) in Economy and 16 (35 lb) kilos in Premium Economy or Premium Business.
Flying Economy on a route with it’s origin and/or destination in Brazil, the maximum weight is 10 kilos.
The maximum dimensions are 21 in (55 cm) x 13 in (35 cm) x 9 in (25 cm) (height, width and depth), including the pockets, wheels and handle. Carry-on baggage must not exceed the size and weight permitted, otherwise it should be sent as checked baggage, which is subject to fees if it exceeds the permitted baggage allowance.
In addition, passengers on a LATAM Airlines Ecuador flight are permitted one small personal item. This can be items such as a laptop bag or baby bag, and must fit the dimensions of 35cm x 20cm x 45cm.
Most passengers are permitted 23kg of checked luggage, which has the maximum combined dimensions of 158cm (length + depth +width). However, this is dependent on the route flying and fare purchased. There are 3 cabin classes onboard a LATAM Airlines Ecuador flight - Economy, Premium Economy and Business.

Premium Economy seats are located at the front of the aircraft. The middle seat in each block of three is kept empty and can be converted into a tablespace, giving passengers extra space.
Business Class passengers can access to LATAM Airlines Ecuador airport lounges and enjoy priority boarding, check-in, and baggage collection.
Passengers can enjoy a personal 15.4-inch high-resolution screen, fitted to the back of each seat.
Passengers can enjoy LATAM Airlines Ecuador's inflight menu, created by some of South America's most prolific chefs. Passengers can order complimentary hot meals and unlimited alcoholic/soft drinks.
LATAM's Business Class seats are fully reclinable and will transform into fully-flat beds. Each seat has touch control which can be used to adjust the position of the head, back and foot of the seat.
Business Class seats are fitted with granite cocktail tables and a personal workspace.
The Business Class cabin is set out in a 1 x 2 x 1 formation, so that each passenger has direct access to the aisle.
Seats are 23-inches wide and, when in a horizontal position, 76 inches in length.
Each seat has a personal shutter, offering ultimate privacy.
LATAM Airlines Ecuador passengers can check in either at the airport or online.
Passengers can check in for their flight online between 48 hours and 75 minutes before your flight is due to depart.
Passengers who have not checked in online must do so at the airport. Visit the LATAM Airlines check-in desk with plenty of time to spare to check in.
LATAM Ecuador passengers can enjoy LATAM Play free of charge onboard with individual screens or alternatively on your own personal device, without the need of needing to download the App for domestic and international flights. Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) is an international airport serving the region of Guayaquil. This airport is the second busiest airport in Ecuador. The airport has one runway which has a length of 2,790 metres. After its recent renovations, the airport is now able to handle up to 7.5 million passengers a year. This airport is a hub for Avianca Ecuador as well as LATAM Ecuador. Other airlines that fly from this airport include Air Europa and JetBlue.
LATAM Airlines Ecuador's fleet currently consists of 4 x Airbus A319-100. Previously, their fleet has included additional Airbus A319-100 and Boeing 767-300ER.
