There are a variety of different airports in the UK that you can fly from if you're travelling to the US, however, the two main airports that offer the most direct routes are London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
London Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in London. Many international airlines fly into and from Heathrow Airport on a daily basis, connecting the UK with the world. The airport is a hub for British Airways. Many airlines, including British Airways, offer flights to the USA from Heathrow - you can fly from Heathrow to many major cities in the US including New York, Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more.
London Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport, based in Crawley, England, is another major international airport. It's the second-busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow by total passenger traffic, with well-known airlines such as easyJet, Norse Atlantic Airways and Wizz Air operating flights from the airport daily. Direct flights to the USA from Gatwick are limited - some of the main routes include Gatwick to New York, Orlando and Tampa.
