Indonesia AirAsia operates scheduled international and domestic services and is an Indonesian associate carrier of Malaysian low-fare airline AirAsia. It is based at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. Indonesia AirAsia was founded in 2004, initially named as Awair (Air Wagon international). In 2005, Awair changed its name to Indonesia AirAsia to fall in line with the other AirAsia-branded airlines in the group.

Baggage Policy

Indonesia AirAsia's baggage allowance rules vary between carry-on and checked baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

On flights with AirAsia, you're allowed to bring onboard 1 cabin bag that mustn't exceed dimensions of 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 inches) and one personal item (laptop bag, handbag, backpack or other small bags) that must be within the dimensions of 40 x 30 x 10 cm (16 x12 4 inches).

The weight of both pieces of your cabin baggage must not exceed 7kg (15 lbs).

These are the guidelines provided by AirAsia, however, Indonesia AirAsia's carry-on baggage policy may differ from these rules. We recommend checking directly with the airline before your flight for more accurate information.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage must not exceed:

81cm (H) x 119cm (W) x 119 cm (D) and 32kg in weight.

Domestic flights – 15kg/ 20kg/ 25kg/ 30kg/ 40kg

International flights – 20kg/ 25kg/ 30kg/ 40kg

Flights to/from the United States - 1 piece (20kg), 2 pieces (20kg each)

Note: Checked baggage allowance can only be shared with guests in the same booking number. Each single item has to weigh less than 32kg (20kg for flights to/from the United States) and is subject to occupational health and safety requirements.

Cabin Classes

Indonesia AirAsia's cabin classes are the same as AirAsia's classes. There are two classes you can fly in - Economy and Premium Class. Both classes have their own benefits and facilities that passengers can use.

Economy Class

In Indonesia AirAsia's Economy class, you can take advantage of the leather seats that have a 28-inch pitch and 16-17 inch width. Meals can be purchased from the in-flight menu.

Premium Economy

Indonesia AirAsia calls its seats in Premium Economy "Hot Seats". These seats come with a 29-inch seat pitch and 16-17 inch width. Meals are provided onboard and can also be pre-booked up to 24 hours before your flight.
