Thai Tiger is the new low cost airline formed by strong parents, Thai Airways and Tiger Airways, and is set to launch in 2011 from a base in Bangkok.
Thai Tiger (great name .. ed!) will be operating regional services from Thailand although exact destination cities have yet to be announced but Cambodia, Vietnam, China Indonesia and Burma are all possibilities. The new airline could encourage more co-operating in the region particularly between Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines, the latter which holds 49 per cent of Tiger's equity.
