Sky Airline of Chile gets boost from Avianca TACA code share agreement

SKY Airline logoIndependent Chilean airline, Sky Airline has agreed an important code share agreement with the giant Colombian/Central American airline grouping, AviancaTaca.

The move is a direct response to the increased competition in the Chilean marketplace as, national carrier, LAN Airlines merges with Brazil's mega carrier TAM in 2012. Sky Airline is hoping that the new arrangements will allow it to grow its share of the domestic Chilean market to over 25% by 2015 within three years.

Sky Airine operates a mixed fleet of 19 Airbus and Boeing aircraft from its base in Santiago de Chile. The airline operates to four international destinations: Buenos Aires (Brazil), Lima and Arequipa (Peru), and La Paz (Bolivia). Within Chile, Sky Airine has flights to: Antofagasta, Arica, Balmaceda, Calama, Concepción, Copiapó, El Salvador,Iquique,La Serena,Puerto Montt,Punta Arenas, Temuco and Santiago.
