Precision Air are making plans to take delivery of their new ATR72-500. The new arrival is planned mid July 2009 and will be named "Zanzibar". The new aircraft will carry the registration PWD and is the fourth aircraft to arrive as part of the $129 million deal with ATR of France.
It was planned that 2 aircraft would arrive each year and in the third year Precision Air would take delivery of three aircraft. The order is for seven aircraft in total and all will be fitted with the latest in-flight entertainment, enhancing the Precision Air’s passenger experience with the latest movies and music. Miss Annette Nkini, Precision Air’s Marketing and Communication Manager stated that as the aircraft was going to named "Zanzibar" that it’s launch in Zanzibar would be perfect.
The people of Zanzibar have been loyal to Precision Air and what a fantastic way of allowing them to share in the success of the airline. Despite the economic downturn Precision Air have succeeded in upgrading their fleet.
