Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes (Gol) has agreed a codeshare arrangement with neighbouring national carrier Aerolineas Argentinas and to recognise each other's frequent flyer programmes.
Gol will bring with them into the deal the recently acquired routes currently flown by WebJet and their 40% share of the growing Brazilian domestic market. Aerolineas Argentinas will contribute their passengers, who fly on a fleet of 65 aircraft plus the feed that comes from their membership of the global SkyTeam Alliance.
Gol recently announced a massive 10.5% increase in passengers flown across its route network during August 2011 when compared with August 2011 despite the cessation of flights to the Colombian capital, Bogota.
Both Argentina and Brazil are experiencing massive growth in their air travel markets both domestically and internationally with tourism to both countries increasing year on year. Alternative Airlines is the perfect on-line buying site for competitively priced regional flights in Brazil and Argentina.
