Garuda sees opportunity with Mandala but get new competition from PT Sky Aviation

Garuda Indonesia, the national carrier of Indonesia, has been reported to be looking at investing in or acquiring Mandala Airlines which ceased flight operations earlier this month but also faces increased competition from new start-up PT Sky Aviation.


 

PT Sky Aviation, a Jakarta-based Air Charter service has announced a change to its business by expanding its services from currently being a charter airline to starting scheduled services with with three Fokker 50 aircraft in the first quarter of 2011 to serve regional networks and destinations within Sumatra.

PT Sky Aviation is a privately owned, fully Certified  Air Charter company  with bases in Jakarta and Lombok, Indonesia. With a growing fleet of modern aircraft, currently SKY Aviation offers Air Tours, custom aircraft charter, medevac flights and executive transport to remote parts of central Indonesia.
