Copa Airlines has announced that it will begin a second daily nonstop flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the airline's Hub of the Americas in Panama from July 1st 2010.

The new flight will increase connection options to Central, South America and the Caribbean from the US West Coast. "We are extremely pleased to expand our service to and from Los Angeles, providing two daily flights that allow passengers to select the schedule that is best for them, whether they are traveling to visit family and friends or conduct business," said Fernando Fondevila, Copa Airline's regional manager, North America. "Now our passengers can choose to fly by day or at night, with a wide range of convenient connections throughout Latin America."
Copa Airlines' new flight CM473 will depart Los Angeles at 09:28, arriving in Panama at 17:58 all times local.
The return flight CM472 will depart Panama at 12:20 arriving in Los Angeles at 17:10
The new flight will be operated with a Boeing 737-800 "Next Generation" aircraft, which seats 16 passengers in business class and 144 in the main cabin. The comfortable, state-of-the-art aircraft has a spacious interior, large overhead compartments and a 12-channel audio-visual entertainment system in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with new movies monthly and complimentary headsets. All Copa flights include complimentary meals, beverages, wines and spirits. Flight attendants are bilingual or trilingual. The new flight complements Copa's original daily nonstop service, which departs Los Angeles at 02:00 and arrives in Panama at 10:30 in the morning "The strong demand we have experienced in this market demonstrates that more people are realizing that Copa is the best way to connect with the Americas," Fondevila added.
