Colombia's Transport Ministry has announced that the national carrier, Avianca will be resuming direct flights between Bogota and Frankfurt, Germany for the first time since in nearly 10 years.
The announcement was made alongside news that Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Emirates Airlines will also be starting flights to the Colombian capital, Bogota. No details have yet been announced of when the new flight services will be started although local press reports indicate that Lufthansa may start a four times weekly service from Frankfurt on October 28th 2010 using an Airbus A340.
