Pay slowly with a credit card

At Alternative Airlines, you can pay for your flights in 40+ ways. We support several credit cards at checkout, including popular options like American Express and Mastercard. You can also pay with an e-wallet paired with your credit card. Our customers love paying with Google Pay and Apple Pay!

To use a credit card, most of the time, you'll need to undergo a credit check. This may involve a hard credit check, which can impact your credit score. If you frequently fail to make payments, your credit score will lower.

A low credit score can cause you to be denied a mortgage, future loans and certain jobs. To avoid this, make sure you're paying back the money you borrowed to the credit company in good time.

Many credit cards offer an interest-free period. If you pay back your flights within a certain amount of days (depending on the credit company you use), you may not have to pay interest. On the other hand, if you continue to make small payments over a long period, interest fees may be applied.

Why use a credit card?

  • Makes travel more affordable as less money is leaving your account at one time.
  • Available in most countries.
  • Very secure.
BNPL

Pay slowly and fly now pay later

Fly now and pay later with one of the 20+ Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) lenders available at Alternative Airlines.

We have popular BNPLs from various regions, including Klarna, widely used in Europe and North America; Tabby, favoured in the Middle East; and Atome, beloved in Southeast Asia.

BNPLs let you spread the cost of your flights over time. There are short-term options available. These tend to be interest-free and will involve around 3 or 4 instalments.

If you'd rather pay off your flights more slowly, you can select one of our long-term options. These often require a small level of interest. Long-term BNPLs allow you to pay back your flights in tiny amounts over a year or longer.

Different BNPLs have different rules. For some, failing to pay on time will result in additional charges. While, for others, you'll receive a reminder before any consequence. If payments fail to be made, then your credit score may be affected.

Many BNPL lenders will check your credit score before allowing you to pay later for your flights. If your credit score is too low, they may deny your application.

Why fly now and pay later?

  • Short-term and long-term plans to suit your budget.
  • Many are interest-free.
  • You can continue making payments even after your flight.

Pay slowly with a deposit

Another way to pay slowly for your flights is through a deposit, thanks to Alternative Airlines' partnership with Slice Pay.

Slice Pay is a layaway product that lets you put a 10% deposit on your flights. The rest of the ticket total can be paid back in up to 26 weekly instalments.

Slice Pay has no connection to credit. This means you can pay slowly for your flights without any credit checks and without fear of lowering your credit score if you fail to make payments on time.

If payments are late, Slice Pay will remind you about the outstanding payment, but there won't be any late fees. However, if you fail to have paid the ticket total at the end date of your plan, usually around a week before departure, your ticket will be cancelled.

Slice Pay is a great option if you're booking your flights well in advance, as it lets you pay for your flights slowly. However, payments must have concluded before flight departure.

Why pay with a deposit?

  • Zero credit checks.
  • No late fees.
  • Zero interest.

How to pay off flights slowly FAQs

Do I have to pay for my flights immediately?

Not at Alternative Airlines! Often, when you book your flights directly with the airline, you'll have to pay entirely upfront. However, when you use a third party like Alternative Airlines, you can pay over time.

If you don't want to pay the entire ticket sum immediately, you can pay with a credit card, a BNPL, or a deposit.

How slowly can I pay off my flights?

This depends on the method you choose. If you go with a deposit, you can pay in up to 26 weeks, but payments must be finished before your flight departure. With a BNPL and a credit card, this time scale depends. If you plan to pay back your flights slowly with small instalments, you may incur interest charges. The longest BNPL contract available at Alternative Airlines is with Contact Now, where you can repay your flights in up to 60 months.

Can I fly now and pay later?

Yes. If you select a BNPL, depending on your chosen contract and when you booked your tickets, you may have the option to fly first and pay later.

Can I pay later with no credit checks?

Yes. Certain BNPLs don't conduct any credit checks (whether the one you've chosen does/doesn't will be made clear to you at checkout). Slice Pay (deposit travel) conducts zero credit checks, allowing you to pay back slowly regardless of your credit score.
