About Flyr
Flyr was an airline based in Oslo, Norway, at Oslo Airport (OSL). The airline started operating in the summer of 2021. The founder of the company is a former Braathens owner Erik G. Brathens, and had the aim to bring more choices for customers in Europe as well as the domestic market, which is currently dominated by Norwegian and SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Making travel easy, safe and simple was the ultimate aim of the airline. Flyr operated its flights with a narrowbody Boeing 737 aircraft.
Flyr began operations with its first flight from Oslo to Tromsø Airport with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline is offered flights to other European destinations including Alicante, Bergen, Bodø, Harstad, Malaga, Nice, Tromsø and Trondheim.
Baggage
Carry-on Baggage
Personal items can be items such as a handbag, a backpack and a laptop. It could not exceed 8kg or larger than 38cm x 30cm x 20cm.
Carry-on baggage must not weigh heavier than 10kg and it must not be larger than 55cm x 40cm x 23cm. Larger or heavier items must be transported as checked baggage.
If the overhead lockers were full, passengers were offered to transport their items as checked baggage for safety reasons.
No prohibited items were allowed onboard, including any fluid exceeding 100ml, except baby milk and food. Carry-on baggage had to fit in the overhead locker or under the seat.
Checked Baggage
Free baggage could not be heavier than 23kg per piece. Depending on the ticket purchased, passengers could get no checked baggage, two 23kg or three 23kg baggage.
Any baggage exceeding the maximum dimensions set out by the airline and/ or heavier than 32 kg (70 lbs) would not be accepted by the airline as checked baggage due to international health and safety regulations.
Check-In Information
Online Check-In
Online check-in was available via the airline website and was available 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Passengers were advised to check in online to save time queuing at the airport.
Passengers were advised to check in online as it saves queuing time at the airport and passengers would be able to obtain their boarding pass online.
Airport Check-In
Passengers flying domestic routes had to check-in 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Passengers who flew international flights had to check in 45 minutes before departure.
We encouraged passengers to arrive at the airport two hours before the established flight departure time. Passengers had to report to the airline check-in area as soon as they arrive, especially if they are not familiar with the airport layout. Airport check-in counters were labelled with the airline's name and logo.
Passengers had to board the aircraft 20 minutes before the flight departure time.
Class Fares
Flyr offered three fare classes, Mini, Smart and Flex. The three fare classes had different baggage allowance offerings and ticket flexibility.
Mini fares passengers could change their tickets up to three days before the travelling dates and have free carry-on baggage.
Smart tickets could change their tickets up to three days before the flight and passengers can select a seat.
Flex passengers received priority check-in and boarding, free seat allocation on rows 2-6 and they were entitled to a full refund.
Frequent Flyer Program
Flyr didn't offer a frequent flyer program.

Flyr wasn't part of any airline alliances.

Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) is also referred to Gardermoen Airport or Oslo Airport serving the capital of Norway - Oslo. It's also a hub airport for Norwegian, Norse Atlantic Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Widerøe. In 2019, the airport was accommodating 28.6 million passengers to over 180 destinations with two active runways and one passenger terminal.
Other airlines that operate to the airport include Aeroflot, Air France, British Airways, Croatia Airlines, Emirates, LOT Polish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Wizz Air and many more. It used to be the main airport for the now ceased airline Airwing.
Fleet
Flyr operated a fleet of 5 Boeing 737, and had plans to build a 30-strong fleet of leased aircraft in the long term.

Flyr set to launch in June 2021
Flyr, a new Norwegian stat-up carrier, will start service in June with two Boeing 737-800 airplanes. The low-cost carrier hopes to make it more affordable than ever from travellers to fly domestically. The airline has been described as 'mobile-first', because of its focus on developing an easy-to-use app to help passengers manage their bookings. In the long-term, the airline hopes to also expand into the international market.
