What happens when I buy car rentals with Affirm?
You'll have secured your car rental with a loan from Affirm, which you'll pay back over the time frame of your chosen contract.
Affirm will send you SMS texts to the mobile number attached to your Affirm account, reminding you of upcoming payments.
Your car rental payments can be made online by debit card or ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfer on the Affirm website, where you can choose to set up an auto-payment.
Will I need to set up an Affirm account?
If you don't already have one, then you'll need to create an account on Affirm's website.
Creating an account is a quick and easy process. You'll fill in a few personal details, such as your mobile number, email address, Social Security number, and date of birth.
Once you have an account created, you can either log in at Alternative Airlines or go to the Travel Section of Affirm's website, where you'll find our company as one of the available options.
Can I pay in monthly installments?
Yes. Affirm allows users to pay for their car rental in monthly installments.

What is prequalification, and how do I prequalify for an Affirm loan to travel?
Prequalification with Affirm means that Affirm considers you a suitable candidate to take out a loan based on the information you have provided.
It's also a way to find out how much you can sensibly spend so that you're within your budget. When you use Affirm to pay for travel via the Alternative Airlines website, you will see the amount that will be required to pay each month for each car rental.
Affirm will analyse how much you can borrow to pay off your car rental purchase, which is also known as a credit check. You will be given an estimated amount that you will have to pay back per month for your rentals. The process doesn't take long and doesn't affect your credit.
If you're buying car rentals with Alternative Airlines through the Affirm app, the prequalification process will go through a virtual card.
There are a few ways to find out if you prequalify to take out a loan for travel with Affirm: you can either select the 'See if you qualify' button through the app or through the online process. Another way is by clicking on the blue "i" icon at the Alternative Airlines' online checkout.
Prequalification provides an estimate of your purchasing power. It is not a guarantee of approval or specific loan terms. Checking your purchasing power won’t affect your credit score. If you choose to proceed, available plans and final terms are determined through the application process. Review the payment schedule and total cost before accepting a plan.
What do I need to qualify for an Affirm payment plan for car rentals?

Do I have to have completed payment before I can use my car rental?
No. Depending on your installment plan, you may still have payments due even after your rental dates.
Many of our customers book their car rental in the weeks leading up to travel. If they want to book a car rental but pay back over a year, rather than having to book a year in advance, they'll get to rent now and pay later. Meaning they'll continue payments even after their trip.

Yes. Affirm offers long-term options that let you pay for your car rental over 12 or 18 months.
While these plans will involve interest, given how spread out the installments are, the additional costs remain very manageable.

Affirm travel works as a loan provision to credit your travel-related needs when booking with Alternative Airlines, up to the value of $17,500 USD.
What happens if I miss a payment?
While Affirm doesn't charge additional fees for late or missed payments, your credit may still be affected.
Missed payments can lower your credit, which makes applying for a loan in the future a longer and more expensive process.
Does Affirm involve credit?
Yes. Affirm will conduct a credit check when you apply for a loan. It does this to assess that you have a good credit. If they find your credit is too low, your application may be rejected.
If you miss an Affirm payment, your credit may be lowered.
