About Travel Service
Founded in 1998, Travel Service was headquartered in the Czech Republic at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) and operated flights to 92 different destinations worldwide, with two primary destinations being Brno and Moravia.
Travel Service served as the parent airline for several airlines operating under the Travel Service name, including Smartwings, Travel Service Polska, Travel Service Slovakia and Travel Service Hungary. In 2014, Czech Airlines became Travel Service's fifth airline subsidiary when Travel Service acquired a 98% stake in the national airline.
In October 2017, Travel Service announced its intention to transition its branding from an airline to a holding company, consolidating all operations under the Smartwings brand. In 2018, it was confirmed that the Travel Service livery had been replaced by the Smartwings livery.
Travel Service underwent a renaming process in December 2018 and was officially rebranded as Smartwings, adopting the name of its former low-cost subsidiary.
Baggage Policy
Travel Service had different baggage policies for carry-on and checked baggage.
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers who flew on Travel Service were allowed to carry one piece of baggage on their flight, which was included in the fare of their ticket. The weight limit for this bag was 8kgs, and its dimensions should not have exceeded 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. Additionally, passengers had the option to bring a laptop or purse on board as long as it weighed no more than 3kg and fit within the dimensions of 40 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm. Carry-on baggage had to be stowed either in the overhead bin or under the seat.
Checked Baggage
In economy class, passengers traveling on Travel Service were entitled to one piece of complimentary checked baggage, with a weight limit of 15 kg. For those flying in business class, the allowance was one piece of free checked baggage, not exceeding 20kg.
Passengers had the option to purchase excess baggage for a fee. Individual items of checked baggage should not have exceeded 32kg in weight, with one side not surpassing a length of 150cm and all three sides combined not exceeding 250cm.

Travel Service had a substantial fleet of over 45 aircraft. The airline consistently updated and expanded its fleet. At that time, Travel Service's fleet comprised a range of Boeing aircraft, including several 737-700s, 737-800s, 737-900ERs, and 737 MAX 8s. The airline allocated its aircraft to its subsidiaries and also leased them to other airlines.
