About Tigerair

Tigerair, or Tiger Airways, was a budget airline headquartered in Singapore and based at Singapore Changi Airport. In 2017, the airline merged with another airline from Singapore, the low-cost carrier Scoot.

Tigerair flew to many destinations within Southeast Asia, China and India, including Bangalore, Bangkok, Cebu, Clark, Chennai, Chiang Mai, Denpasar, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Hanoi, Hat Yai, Ho Chi Minh City, Ipoh, Jinan, Jakarta, Kalibo, Macau, Male, Penang, Ningbo, Nanning, Phuket, Shenzhen, Taipei, Surabaya and many others. Other airlines offering flights to Tigerair include Firefly Airlines.

Ticket sales to these destinations commenced 24 February 2006, with the first flight to Shenzhen taking place on 15 April, to Haikou from 26 April and to Guangzhou from 27 April 2006. The airline since indicated that the routes were highly popular, with increased flights to Haikou and Guangzhou less than three months since their launch and were among the most popular routes while Tigerair was still active.

Tigerair has now merged with Scoot, to make your Tigerair booking and purchase Tigerair tickets, please visit the Scoot page on the Alternative Airlines website.

Cabin Classes

Before merging with Scoot, Tigerair offered a single-class cabin configuration on its flights (Economy Class). The airline followed a no-frills, low-cost model, typically offering a single class of seating with a standardised service offering for all passengers. This approach helped to keep costs low and provide affordable air travel options to customers.

Frequent Flyer Program

Tigerair didn't have its own frequent flyer program, however, through its partnership with Singapore Airlines, passengers flying with Tigerair could earn points/miles with Singapore Airlines' loyalty program, KrisFlyer.

Airline Alliance

Tigerair wasn't a member of any airline alliance, however, through its partnership with Singapore Airlines, who is a member of the Star Alliance, passengers could enjoy alliance-related advantages.
