Freebird Airlines is a Turkish charter airline. The carrier's main base is Istanbul Atatürk Airport with secondary bases at Antalya Airport and Dalaman Airport. The airline was established in June 2000 and started operations on 5 April 2001 with a service between Istanbul and Lyon using a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft. In November 2003 the airline received its first Airbus A320-200 aircraft, and today the fleet is made up entirely of this type. Freebird Airlines operates holiday charter flights to destinations in Europe, Lebanon and Iran from Turkish holiday resorts.
Baggage Policy
Freebird has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage.
Carry-on Baggage
Your hand baggage must not exceed 10 kg in weight or 43 cm x 28 cm x 23cm in size. Pack photographic film in hand baggage as low dose X-ray machines will not affect it. You may carry on one of the following additional items without additional charge:
Your duty-free allowance, handbags, pocketbook, or purse, which is appropriate to normal travelling dress. This may not be used as a container to transport articles, which would otherwise be regarded as baggage.
Checked Baggage
Under the health and safety laws at London Gatwick airport, no bag will be allowed through checking if it exceeds 25kg.
Cabin Classes
Economy Class is the only cabin class available on Freebird flights.
Economy Class Facilities
Economy Class passengers can order food and drink from the airline's inflight menu. Although there's no inflight entertainment system, the airline will sometimes provide passengers with an inflight magazine for entertainment.
Economy Class Seats
There are 30 rows of seats, set out in a 3 x 3 formation. Each seat is comfortable and spacious and designed to give plenty of legroom.
Premium Economy
Freebird doesn't offer Premium Economy.
Business Class
Freebird doesn't have a Business Class cabin.
First Class
Freebird only has Economy Class and doesn't offer any cabin class upgrades.
Check-In
Freebird passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check in.
Online Check-in
Freebird is yet to offer online check-in for their flights yet.
