Buy Extrajet flights with Alternative Airlines

Extrajet is an upcoming UK-based scheduled airline that focusses on offering flights for business travellers. The airline is based at Leeds/Bradford International Airport (LBA) and flies a number of regional routes to destinations that are located in key business areas across the UK and Europe. The airline either flies point-to-point between these destinations, without stopping. Or, the airline uses its hub at Leeds/Bradford International as a connection point to fly between destinations. In total, the airline flies to more than 10 destinations within Europe.

Extrajet was founded in 2015 and plans to fly its first-ever service from Leeds in March 2021. The airline is unique in the fact that it focuses on flying regional routes rather than the main hub to hub routes. Extrajet was created after the main commercial airlines transitioned from flying from regional routes and moved into flying from hubs. The airline realised that as the big airlines were retiring their small planes flying regional routes and investing in larger planes that would fly between major hubs, there were many business travellers and routes left unserved. That's why the airline has dedicated itself to operating flights to these underserved routes and give passengers across Europe an easy way to travel for business.

For many of its routes, the airline flies twice daily, with one flight leaving early morning and the other returning late evening. This is perfect for business travellers that are travelling for business for the day but also gives them the option to return the following day or at a later time.

The airline flies with high frequency but low passenger count. It puts service above price, recognising that business travellers want more from their flight in comparison to what bigger commercial airlines offer in Economy Class. The airline sells its flights at a fixed price but discounts apply to flights that are in high demand. This means that the more people that are flying on the flight, the cheaper the airline ticket will be.

The airline also uses its weekend flights for corporate travel. Or, for sporting events, acting as transport for sports team supporters who buy a package deal through the sports team that they support.

Baggage Policy

As it's yet to launch, the airline hasn't specified what it's baggage allowance will be yet. However, as an airline focussed on business flights, both carry-on baggage and checked baggage will be included within the price of the ticket. Passengers can expect generous baggage allowances with more than enough baggage for one person.

Cabin Classes

As all of the airline's flights are targetted at business travellers, the airline operates with a Busines Class only cabin. The airline provides itself in putting service first. Therefore, its friendly cabin crew is on hand to attend to any requests or assist with anything that passengers might need throughout their flight. The cabin itself is spacious, with passengers spread out to give them more privacy throughout the flight.

Seats

Seats are larger than what's expected from a regular scheduled carrier, with extra legroom.

Check-In

Extrajet has not released their check-in information yet.

Online Check-in

Whether online check-in is available is yet to be confirmed. However, it's unlikely.

Airport Check-in

Passengers will be able to check-in at the airport of departure for their flight. Check-in times aren't published yet, however, it's expected that passengers will not have to queue and will be able to check-in and board just before their flight, to save hassle.

In-Flight Entertainment & WiFi

The details of in-flight entertainment are not confirmed at this time. Due to the short flight times, it's unlikely that the airline will have an in-flight entertainment system. But reading materials should be onboard passengers to enjoy.

While not confirmed, the airline is expected to have in-flight WIFI so that passengers can check their emails and catch-up with work while flying.

Food and Drink

The airline is expected to offer a complimentary full meal service to passengers that want it.

Hub Airport

Leeds/Bradford International Airport

Leeds/Bradford International Airport (LBA) is an international airport in Leeds and the hub airport for Extrajet. The airline announced Leeds Bradford International as its hub before it launched, back in 2016. Although this is the airline's primary hub, it won't operate all flights directly from Leeds. It will also fly direct regional routes from many other airports that don't include Leeds. For regional routes that the airline can't fly direct for, Leeds Bradford International will be used as a connection point for the two destinations.

The only other airline that uses Leeds Bradford airport as a hub is Jet2.com. Other airlines that fly to/from the airport include Aer Lingus Regional, Aurigny, BH Air, Eastern Airways, KLM, Ryanair and TUI.

Fleet

The airline hasn't announced which aircraft type it will use to operate its flights. However, it has confirmed that upon launch, it will have five jets within its fleet and plans to add an additional two jets each month going forward.
