A new national carrier for Burundi set to take to the skies

Burundi hasn’t had a national carrier since Air Burundi, which commended flights in 1957 but unfortunately ceased operations in 2007 due to technical difficulties. The airline briefly resumed flights between 2007 and 2009, before shutting down for the last time in 2009. Before finally shutting down, the airline was operating flights to Bujumbura, Burundi, and Kigali in Rwanda, and Enetebbe in Uganda. When Burundi Airlines takes to the skies in 2021, it will be the first time the country has had a national carrier since 2009.
