Air Moana was established in 2022 by Christian Vernaudon, a former head of Air Tahiti. It gained its air operator certificate in February 2023 and accomplished its inaugural flight to Bora Bora soon after. Air Moana operates its flights using ATR 72 aircraft.

Baggage Policy
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger is allowed to bring 1 x carry-on baggage and 1 x personal item. The personal item must be smaller than a carry-on bag (e.g., a handbag).
Your carry-on baggage must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm. It also cannot weigh more than 5kg.
Checked Baggage
Air Moana states that there is no limit to the number of checked baggage items per passenger as long as the maximum weight and dimensions are respected.
Each checked baggage must not exceed the linear dimension of 158cm (length + width + height).

Air Moana offers 3 fare packages: Special Offer, Standard and Flex.
Special Offer
With Air Moana's Special Offer fare, passengers can stay up to 30 days at their destinations. Hand baggage and personal items must not exceed 5kg (combined). There is an allowance of up to 23kg of checked baggage.
Standard
With the Standard fare, Air Moana passengers can stay up to 30 days at their destination. Hand baggage and personal items must not exceed 5kg (combined) and the checked baggage cannot weigh more than 23kg.
Flex
Air Moana's Flex fare allows passengers to stay up to 90 days at their destination. The hand baggage and personal item mustn't weigh more than 5kg (combined). There is a 46kg maximum weight for checked baggage.
Check-In
Online Check-in
Air Moana offers online check-in. Online check-in for Air Moana flights will be open 30 hours up until 1 hour before the flight is scheduled to depart.
Airport Check-in
If you are unable to check in online, you can check in at the airport. Check-in counters for Air Moana will be open 1 hour before departure and close 30 minutes before takeoff.
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart to allow you enough time to check-in for your flight and clear security procedures.
Food & Drink
Air Moana hasn't yet published whether they will offer complimentary drinks or snacks yet. However, as the flights are domestic island-hop flights this is unlikely. A buy-on-board service may be provided.

Air Moana states that in-flight entertainment is accessible via your electronic devices where you will be able to watch the latest movies and TV shows or listen to music on your way to your destination.

Fa'a'ā International Airport serves the capital of French Polynesia, Papeete. The airport offers a limited route network primarily to other south Pacific islands and New Zealand with some long haul services to USA and France. Currently, the airport has direct services to Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland, Tokyo, San Francisco, Honolulu, Noumea, Ahe, Puka Puka, Maupiti and more. Air France, Air New Zealand, Air Tahiti, Air Tahiti Nui, Aircalin, French Bee, Hawaiian Airlines and United Airlines all operate to the airport. Fa'a'ā International Airport has some bus services to the rest of the island allowing for easy transfers between the airport and your final destination.
